Pet Stories: In Your Own Words

His name was Lashes "Lashes-R-Long". He was a beautiful Chocolate Cocker Spaniel with wonderful tan markings. He was my world. I couldn't wait to get home and see him waiting by my front door. I had always wanted to breed him because of his wonderful mannerisms and wonderful bloodline. Unfortunately he was killed on the Saturday following Thanksgiving 2000.

One night coming home from a busy day in the retail market, I was not greeted by his happy face as I had everyday for 5 and 1/2 years. Worried I went around looking for him when my roommate said he was in the backyard. To my surprise my dog had somehow gotten out of the fence and was found a few moments after being hit and left for dead. My heart was broken. As I wrapped him in a coat, I could hardly believe this had happened. I proceeded to pick him up and carry him for nearly 3 blocks home in my arms.

I still believe that Lashes is with me, and I have been blessed with another wonderful Blonde and Buff Cocker Spaniel. His name is Sunny "Ray of Sunshine XV11" He is truly a ray of sun when I was so depressed he brought the sun back in my night.
