Pet Stories: In Your Own Words
Bootsy
|
The day I decided I wanted to adopt a pet was one of my best decisions. In January of 1999 I decided to check out the local humane society. I was looking for a small dog because the apartment complex I live in only allowed animals twenty pounds and under. While at the pound I checked all the dogs but couldn't find one. I found a cat I thought would be nice and proceeded to fill out the necessary papers. Just as I was about to turn in the application, a woman walks in with a small ten pound dog that she was giving up. I didn't waste a minute, I approached her and introduced myself and inquired, would she let me adopt her dog? She replied, I have been praying for a lady like you. We proceed outside to make the arrangements. I believe I was meant to have this dog. Bootsy was thirteen months old at the time I adopted her and she has been a delight to me and some of the elderly people that live here. She is a mixed black, tan, white Chihuahua/Shi-tzu |
