Pet Stories: In Your Own Words
Loving Bonds
|
(ed. note: a loving reminder that they are always near) My beloved husky/lab cross Sadie died in March. Of course I wondered what happened to her spirit, since she was so close to me one day, then gone the next. I knew that animal souls rejoin their group animal spirit to a certain extent, but I wondered if this happened to the same extent with dogs, since they develop such strong bonds with their owners. When she was alive, Sadie would always nudge me awake promptly at seven a.m. If this didn't work she would "woof" softly. Now, when I am in that twilight zone between sleeping and waking in the morning, I still hear her "woof". I can feel her fear in the middle of a lightning storm. I sense her impatience if I cut out regular walks. So it must be true, nothing interferes with a loving bond. submitted by Marilyn Cushman |
