Pet Stories: In Your Own Words
A Pet Poem
|
I thought this poem might be a nice addition to your pet page. I had a 12 year old, Old English Sheepdog that I loved and adored. He would crawl up in my or his Daddy's lap and curl up. Now, you see, he weighed between 85 to 100 lbs. He was a treasure and when he died one night in his sleep, we were devastated. I found a poem in our paper a few days later, that spoke to me. I'd like to share it with you. I explained to St.Peter, I'd rather stay here, Outside the pearly gate. I won't be a nuisance, I won't even bark, I'll be very patient and wait. I'll be here, chewing on a celestial bone. No matter how long you may be. I'd miss you so much, if I went in alone. It wouldn't be heaven for me. author unknown |
