Pet Stories: In Your Own Words
Bud
|
We have always had many dogs in our lives. Living on a grain farm you are usually the recipient of many a stray. We were down to two dogs, and one more for good measure came home with my daughter from college, that was enough. Then one evening my younger son of 22 came home from a friend's house with a small cage. Upon seeing the new arrival, I gave in to a mixed-breed puppy named Bud, whom another family could no longer take care of any more. Now over the last three years our family has experienced many things, including my husband having to quit farming due to mounting bills. We had to sell off his equipment and some land he had bought as a young man that we thought would be our retirement income. Needless to say, this left my husband bitter and depressed, and withdrawn from his family. |
