Richard Bach's inspirational classic Jonathan Livingston Seagull is one of the few books that dominated the #1 spot on the New York Times Bestseller List for two consecutive years. With humor, wisdom and insight that could only come from one of the world's most beloved authors and an accomplished pilot, his most recent book, Travels with Puff, recounts Bach's journey from Florida to Washington state in his small seaplane, Puff. With over 60,000,000 copies of his books sold, Richard Bach remains one of the world's most beloved authors. A former USAF fighter pilot, Air Force captain and latter-day barnstorming pilot, Bach continues to be an avid aviator-author, exploring and chronicling the joys and freedom of flying, reporting his findings to his devoted fans. His latest book, Illusions II, is a remarkable account of his angel's lessons, by the way of a seaplane crash.

Richard Bach thought that he understood the true nature of reality but when he suffered a near-fatal crash in his beloved seaplane Puff he realized that the lessons of the universe were just beginning.

After 7 days in a coma, Bach awoke to discover that his memory of the crash was far different from the reality of what occurred. By his side was his ex-wife and dearest friend Sabryna, who, with eleven simple words, gave Bach the strength to explore his contradictive memory of the crash: “You are a perfect expression of perfect Love, here and now.” Illusions II, the unintended sequel, is the story of what really happened on that fateful day and the amazing internal journey Bach took to remember it.

Confined to a hospital bed and connected to machines, Bach’s only desire was to “go home”, a physical impossibility. So Bach went home in the only way that he could, through his dreams, where he encountered his old-friend, Donald Shimoda, and, once again, was challenged with the illusion of what is real and what is dream.

“You’re a thought-form, aren’t you Don? You’re not a real image. This is a dream….”

“He blinked at me, changing the talk. “Not a real image,” he said. “no such thing as a real image. The only Real is Love.”

Traveling through space and time, Bach encounters many of his fictional characters, only to challenge us again with what is real and what is fictional. Shimoda, Bethany Ferret, Lucky his beloved Sheltie, and the spirit of Puff, all guides on his journey to life and recovery. Standing at a threshold between the spirit world and the mortal world he finally grasps that it is all one world, separated only by the illusions that we create.

“Far as I know, beliefs play only one language: illusions. Let illusions go, beliefs vanish. Love is with you instantly, the way it’s ever been.”
