Bold New Voices in the Business World
Movers and shakers, the Resslers are driven and competitive business persons catering to Wall Street’s elite. After two decades in the cutthroat arena of Wall Street headhunting, their personal and profound experiences through the tragedy of 9/11 and close associations with New York City firefighters inspired them to find deeper meaning in their working lives. The result was their ground-breaking, award winning book, Spiritual Capitalism: What the FDNY Taught Wall Street About Money. Since its publication in 2004, Peter and Monika have emerged as dynamic leaders of a spiritual revolution in business, a phenomenon they call “Capitalism with a Conscience.”
Peter Ressler is a twenty-five year Wall Street veteran whose client list reads like a who’s who in the financial industry. After graduating with a business degree from Cornell University he joined a prominent investment banking search firm. He rose rapidly through the firm’s ranks becoming top producer and Managing Director in charge of sales and trading search for the institutional bond markets. There he developed long-term relationships with top investment banks.
Three months after the September 11 tragedy, Peter became a volunteer firefighter in his Long Island community. There he was trained by active New York City firemen, some of whom were members of the FDNY’s prestigious Rescue Units. He is currently a member of two volunteer fire departments in his New Jersey community and a member of the Firefighter Assist Search Team (FAST).
Monika Mitchell Ressler started her professional career as an actress in New York after receiving a BA in theatre from SUNY. Working with New York’s theatrical greats, she moved into directing and producing gradually running a prestigious Upper West Side theatre company. After several years as a theatrical producer and public relations executive, she was recruited as a headhunter for the financial industry by Peter Ressler. She quickly expanded and developed their client base and began a real-estate investment division.
Monika is a trained hospice care volunteer in Long Island, New York and Hunterdon County, New Jersey. She is a former Courts Appointed Special Advocate for foster children in Suffolk County, Long Island. She is currently working on her master’s degree in Social Sciences at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University.
The Resslers married in 1992. Three years later, they opened The Ressler Mitchell Group to instant success. Together they have expanded their bond market search business to include capital markets, real estate development, derivative, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities. Both Peter and Monika serve on the Board of Trustees for the Association of Spirit at Work, and are active members of The Fiver Foundation and The World Business Academy. They serve as key presenters for the UN Global Compact for Values in Business.
