Joseph W. McMoneagle was born January 10, 1946, in Miami, Florida. He voluntarily joined the U.S. Army and was recruited by the Army Security Agency for classified assignments. He spent mid-1964 through 1978 on various overseas missions within the countries of The Bahamas, South Vietnam, Germany, Italy, Thailand, and others, eventually being assigned to the Headquarters of U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) in Arlington, Virginia.
As a result of unusual events in his life, a near-death experience, a UFO sighting, and numerous spontaneous out-of-body episodes, he became aware of his intuitive abilities and developed the skill of remote viewing. He later became one of the original Intelligence Officers recruited for the top-secret Army program now known as STARGATE. While there, he earned the Army’s prestigious Legion of Merit for providing critical intelligence reported at the highest echelons of our military and government, including such national level agencies as: The Joint Chiefs of Staff, DIA, NSA, CIA, DEA, and the Secret Service, producing crucial and vital intelligence unavailable from any other source.
Following his retirement from the Army in 1984, he maintained his association with the STARGATE program through his own company, Intuitive Intelligence Applications, working as a remote viewing consultant to the Cognitive Sciences Laboratories at SRI-International and Science Applications International Corporation until the programs closure in November of 1995.
McMoneagle is currently a Research Associate with the Laboratories for Fundamental Research in Palo Alto, California. There he continues to seek more effective answers to questions concerning the applications of remote viewing, including corporate uses, remote viewing underlying mechanisms, and the paranormal.
He is the author of four books on the potentials of remote viewing and the intuitive mind: Mind Trek (1993); The Ultimate Time Machine (1998); Remote Viewing Secrets (2000) and The Stargate Chronicles (2002). He frequently speaks and demonstrates his abilities throughout the U.S. and Europe. He is acknowledged as one of the best remote viewers in the field.
