Adventure and discovery was the enticement that drew Lee Elders to this wild lawless land; the supernatural world of the Shuara that live in a mystical realm of ayahuasca-induced visions where the ethereal world is encased within our third dimensional reality. Along the way he discovered his true self - his Kakarma. However incredible some of the incidents may seem this is a true story.

Talking Happy Bday Shirley!

Hi
I thought it might be fun for Shirley if we all contributed a few words about what Shirley means to us and what we have learned from her. I know she will read them online but when we get back from celebrating her birthday, I'll print these out and put together a little scrapbook of your thoughts for her.

I'll start:

Shirley,
I have three 'bestest' friends and you are one of them.
I value your friendship, trust, and your version of love more than you realize.

Some of the best times and the best arguments I've had were with you Like sitting in the hot tub watching the earth spirit dance around the tree or the debate over who is actually in control of humanity... if there is control. We've been stuck in airports, lost in Zurich, watched Hale Bop over an erupting Mt Popo, visited contactees, sat through countless channels, hiked all over and back, stayed up all night to talk through life and what it means to us, taken care of each other when we have been ill, laughed at the silliest things, and always been there for each other whenever we were needed. Special times.

Through you I have learned to temper my words and make them exact for communication or miscommunication is the root of most disagreements. You have taught me to share more of myself.

I am so happy that we decided to play in each other's lives this time around. You are a gift in mine and for that I thank you from the depth of my heart.

Happy 76th mi amiga! We'll see you in a couple days to really celebrate!

Love
BE

Smile Happy Birthday Shirley

HAPPY BIRTHDAY – dear SHIRLEY !!!

YOU are one of the Brightest STARS – and I don’t mean in just Hollywood !

I consider myself very fortunate to have “made your acquaintance” years ago when your first book “Don’t Fall Off The Mountain” came out (and have read every book since!). Prior to that, I delighted in your early films, and love even more your later ones.

Of course, one of my favorites is Out On A Limb for so many reasons. I was already doing my own personal research on the subject, and your personal experiences just helped to expand my own search even more.

You are a very gutsy lady and I admire your courage to stand unflinchingly tall against the winds of society (and perhaps colleagues) or other TV personalities’ jokes and/or judgments. You speak your truth with strength, clearly and precisely, and remembering that has helped me to do the same in my own life.

Personally, I think you are one of the best interviewers around, as is evidenced in the many IE Radio shows you’ve done. And we are always so delighted when you get some time to join us in the chat. Just love your sense of humor too!

Thank you for providing for many of us, this home away from home website. It has opened so many new avenues for me to explore and learn and grow, and I am ever grateful. More than anything, you have taught me the gift of allowing others their own path, knowing that in some way, it all contributes to the Whole.

May your 76th year be extra special in bringing to you all that you envision for yourself. May you continue to experience good health, joy, and love…
May you be Blessed, always....and in all ways...

Love n Hugs.....Peg

Default Happy Birthday!

Wow. How do I follow that!

Shirley, you opened my metaphysical doors wide open that were merely open a crack. Your witty conversations while chatting has made me laugh and honor you as a person instead of a personality. Your gracious presence is always enlightening. But most of all I have learned so much from your experiences, wisdom and bravery to push on when others have less than respectful things to say. Your strength of character is one I aspire to. Hope you have a spectacular birthday and may all your dreams, wishes and giggles overflow your cup in the coming year!!

Hugs, Love & Light.

Sandy

Default Happy 76th Birthday!!!!

Dear Shirley,
My very first experience of you was back in 1963 when I was 12 years old. My father had just moved us to Taylorsville, MS. And on that very night that we arrived he took us to a drive-in theater while our dwellings were being prepared for us. And it was there that I saw you for the first time in your movie, "Erma La Duece", I hope I have spelled that correctly. As a young girl, I was stricken with your energy on the screen and I felt I knew you in some way.

I held that knowing in my heart for 20 years until one day as I went to pick up my son at the babysitter's in 1983, the old woman, Mrs. McKlesky, did I find you again. Oddly, that day, she invited me in and said she had something to give me. I walked with her to her library. She took down a book off her shelf and handed it to me while saying, "I think you might find this interesting." It was your book, "Out On A Limb". I looked at Mrs. McKlesky, she simply nodded. I took your book home and began to read it that very night.

It was in that night that I received the greatest blessing of my life. In your words, I found my own. You confirmed for me what I had been going through for so very long with no other source to confirm that. It was in that moment that I began my adventure into the finding of "ME". And you helped me to do that. The process began and is still continuing.

Then in late 2001, I broke my foot and my doctor forced me to be immobile. That is the first time I ever surfed the web. And low and behold, I don't know how it happened, but I ended up on your site and I didn't even know that you had a site. It was like the greatest gift I could have been given. I began to write and share on your site.

Then, in 2003, after moving to Northern New Mexico, I got to accidently meet you on the porch of Bodies Market in Abiqui. I was just standing there waiting for my ride when I noticed a vehicle come into the parking lot, and as simply as that, it was you. My smile beamed and as you got out of your vehicle, it was like meeting an old friend again. And what a delightful conversation we had as it was just after the beginning of the Iraq war in the March of that year.

So, what do you mean to me? You mean a Sister of Discovering Possibilities. And you are the one who has provided the place for us all to come to share those discoveries. I honor and respect the love that is in your heart to reach out to so very many people yearning for visibility.

It has been my pleasure to share my journey with you as you have shared with so many. I think of you as a great strong hold of humanity and expansion in conscious awareness and evolution.

You are my sister, my friend in life's discoveries.

I wish for you the most beautiful celebration of your 76th year upon this planet. For you have truly embedded your mark upon this world in so many wonderful ways. I would have to say, "You are a delight and yet a delicate gift that has been presented on this earth at this time. And I am one of multitudes that so appreciates your presence. So, I have to say thank you for the giving of yourself that so many many others could come to themselves." That is the greatest honor that I could give you.

Love, Deb

Talking Happy Birthday!

Well, dear Shirley, another year has flown and it is my great delight to be wishing you yet another one and many more. Your birthday comes at the most delightful time of year where I live.... Long Island New York... the city comes back to life, the trees straighten themselves out and the magnolias are starting to weave their carpet of flowers. We live in suburban nature, near beautiful ponds and lakes, and the land further out east is still quite rural- Sag Harbor, the Hamptons - and of course the arts and the restaurants ... we have a bit of everiything.
FOrtunately I am a reader, and also enjoyed going to films. Accompanied by my father, who loved you - but not as much as my mom. He was tall and gangly, she short and roly-poly. The had survived the Holocaust and the USA gave them back their dignity and their personalities which I had never seen as a child.
So, when we went to the Book Review in Huntington in 2001 and you came up to the balcony in that Parisian -type caged little elevator - your eyes sparkled and that red suit...... heels, all business but still the Hollywood Star.
The book was the Camino... the story of a woman who at the age of 60 walked the famous paths to personal challenge and found that the everyday experiences of all of us were on that path, be it "for real" or in spirit.

Since that time I am so happy that I tried out the website, which you had started and which is now one of my most delightful and comfortable places.
I met many "chat buddies" and have traveled with my hubby to New Mexico and Arizona three times. Our joys and friendships with others in our
"family " has given me so much peace and love and wisdom. I would like to thank you for sharing that, as well as for the spiritual aspects of your life
ON your 70th I believe we all wrote something and I am going to attempt to dig up that poem. If I can't find it, .... maybe I didn't write it"? Oh but my memory is pretty good at the age of 67 - the reverse number of yoursl But what is a number anyway....
With all my love and and admiration for your caring - have a wonderful day on Saturday..... we are having a meditation on Sunday- full moon, and I will dedicate that to you and Terry and other friends and fur persons. The crystal bowl shall help heal anything you might find disturbing....

Nori aka the Nabisco Kid my nickname received from Debabbot and also
Iron my name backwards - from Laurie (Lah).

"Many Happy Returns"

I always know how old you are because you are nearly...30 years older than me. I get to the next number first, by 16 days, so I already passed the "6" year. (46 ugh)
"Don't Fall Off The Mountain" fell on my head in a library when I was 17 or 19
(so loong ago.)
I attended your seminars in L.A and NY when I was 22, ( don't make me try and think of the dates !)
I freaked out during one of the meditations and nearly knocked you over in my rush to get out of the auditorium. You spoke to me but, I was overwhelmed...sorry. I left my unicorn for you as a gift.
I devoured every single book you wrote, connected with your style, and open communication (there is Aries in your chart somewhere ?)
You helped me see that my parents were just souls working out their own karma, and that there are no victims.
This was a BIG help to me.
When I joined the EB I found such a weight had lifted, and my "baggage" had somewhere to be unpacked and examined.
I travelled to the first gathering, and met up with such wonderous people, such good, good friends. And I realised you were just as nervous as we were !
We have clashed, here on the EB, and through that I have learnt that you are one stubborn.....whatsits !
But I guess that just comes with age, huh ?
(gawfaw !)
If ever I need grounding, or even some solace, I just imagine you out there, writing and exploring. It always helps.
Have a great Birthday, and a love filled year.
I hope to meet you again, before we are both older than God.
So I will save the Birthday kiss until then. ( hope I still have teeth)
From all the way down here.....to all the way up there....
Three cheers for your special day !!!
Hip, pip Hooray
Peace
J

if by chance
our paths have crossed
along this curious dubious road
shall we say it was that one infinite thing
that has brought us all together… and well it bodes…

this compelling curiosity…

Dear Shirley ;

Happy Birthday to you

When you showed that courage to write the book , Out on a limb , you changed my life for the better by helping me finding my own truth. I found that book in my fathers book shell when I was a teenager and first read it. I remember how surprised and even shy, I felt , like I had found out some secret about my father : ) I´ve read it several times since then.

Then I found your site that has brought to me friends who I really care for and has also brought me a whole treasure of knowledge and forced me to ask myself more questions.

I often think about my life as a necklage ... and the people who have affected my life in a positive way as the pearls on it . Some I meet every day , some I meet once in a year, some I got to know for some period in my life, some I have never met in person and some have gone for the distant shore. That necklage becomes bigger by every year I live. You have been one of those pearls for 16 years now and will always be.

Thank you for everything and may all the bright and beautiful in the world always surround you.

Love , Lóa
