Adventure and discovery was the enticement that drew Lee Elders to this wild lawless land; the supernatural world of the Shuara that live in a mystical realm of ayahuasca-induced visions where the ethereal world is encased within our third dimensional reality. Along the way he discovered his true self - his Kakarma. However incredible some of the incidents may seem this is a true story.

Red face Marilyn Monroe - Past Life via Evolutionary Astrology

As with Elizabeth Taylor's birth information, the data is attributed to Astro Databank, source: BC/BR, Rodden Rating: AA

As with every chart I look at, the entire chart provides pieces of the karmic story. So I'm skipping over a lot here as well as synthesizing some possible details.

Marilyn was a Gemini, 10th house with an Aquarius Moon in the 7th and a Leo Ascendant. Her reputation and place in society was important to her, her goal was to embody open mindedness, storytelling and "youth." Her public face was clearly that of the performer and queen, sometimes the child. On a soul level, her goal was to become a genius, a revolutionary soul - to heal through intimate relationships with others.

When she failed at that, she appeared trapped in meaningless roles, her affairs perhaps - eccentricity and dependency (at least one husband claimed she would kill herself if he left) as well as a lack of self-assurance in her role.

Before I present the nodal story, I want to add that she had a Grand Water Trine- Mars in Pisces, Pluto in Cancer and Saturn in Scorpio. Three often harsh planets in dark, deep waters of the soul. This was her "luck" for better or for worse.

She also had a fixed mode T-Square. She was born to overcome hardships if she would surrender to opportunities. The fixed mode is all one speed and no gears.

Now to the nodal story: Her South Node was in Capricorn, 6th House. It's ruled by Saturn. The karma she came to work on was her coldness. Arthur Miller wrote a character in "After The Fall" based on Marilyn, describing her as a shrew. Her aversion to feeling emotional safety was the result of a lifetime(s) of surviving harsh conditions alone. Like a hermit. Though a person of strength and character, she would never notice her own pain. This past lifetime could have been a nightmare for her. Pluto opposes her South Node. She suffered from the demons she carried with her, and any residual karmic memories that remained locked in her soul. A father figure may have likely played a role in her violent past lifetime. Was she a slave on a plantation, born to a white father and a black mother? Did her own father rape or beat her to death? This is the kind of archetypal force that is at play with such a combination.

Her North Node in the 11th house Cancer says: Time to come in from the cold and experience safety and comfort. Steven Forrest writes of this, "God owes [her] one." But only if she would claim it for herself. As with any North Node, it is just a suggestion from the cosmos. It isn't in our unconscious at all. We have to make a conscious choice and effort to move in that direction.

If Marilyn Monroe had made a habit of giving herself more solitary, self-nourishing time - perhaps with a shaman in Mexico - she would have been able to experience healing her dark place as well as having the chance to cry, to feel and to be soft.

Pluto figures large in her chart. In the 11th house she would have been confronted with challenges to "going it alone." But the paradox in this is that her tribe would be somewhat mad and she was meant to be their Cassandra. She had to learn how to confront them with harsh truths, thereby creating the possibility for "healing." Studio execs advised her to dump Arthur Miller when he appeared before the HUAC. She refused and called them "born cowards."

To tie in her Pluto and her nodal story in a positive manifestation, during her last interview she said,

"What I really want to say: That what the world really needs is a real feeling of kinship. Everybody: stars, laborers, Negroes, Jews, Arabs. We are all brothers. Please don’t make me a joke. End the interview with what I believe."

What Steven Forrest writes about 11th house aspects of the chart is also worth noting. He says that they typically don't appear in a person's life until they reach midlife. Marilyn died at age 36. If that was what she said in her last interview, I can only imagine how wonderful she would have been after that, if only she had given midlife a chance.

Hi GentleRick,

Your posts keep surprising me – intriguing and drawing me in! I mean that in the best possible way.

I am sorry I didn’t respond to your comment/question “I hope that helps” earlier – I’ve been working on a garden plot and being that we have clay soil and the bike ride there and back totals 5 miles I’ve been slightly – achy and tired

What you said about the transits did help. I haven’t had time to go into them very much –and I’ve only started on the “brush strokes” – Capricorn ascendant is a bit of a stymied situation – I mean the words to describe Capricorn are no where as fascinating as Scorpio’s “goddess” ! –

But then I did find “rugged individualist” and I’m not unhappy with manager or independent either – it’s a work in progress – a great, fun little beginning to meditating on the main energies of the chart. I think what you said about focusing on the transits and aspects that are major makes sense too -

I’m planning to buy Steven Forrest’s book “Yesterday’s Sky” and possibly “The Inner Sky” or “The Changing Sky” - have you read either of the last two?

I remember reading a post of yours last year about the nodes and you mentioned “Yesterday’s Sky”. It was also in that post I recalled you said your south node was in Leo. This is opposite the nodes of my friend. We work/create together and when I saw that you were posting on kickstarter – and you had said “this book will be another jewel in my crown” (something along those lines) – it made me smile – sounded sort of Leo-like to me – the “king” /crown –

I attributed you being able to go to kickstarter to your Leo node – I hadn’t read your response to deb at the time – and I talked to my friend about it because we’ve been talking about the nodes for the last little while since you were posting here

You being on kickstarter and our assumptions about the Leo energy made us consider our own nodes – her Leo north node and mine in Cancer – these energies seem to ask her to play/shine/allow to have things given to her and I’m supposed to nourish myself – and consider my creations like babies –

This is all a simplified description – but we realized that in considering the energies it opened up possibilities – I’m not sure if we would ever use kickstarter – but just opening up to the energies was something we would like to continue – a long the lines that you talk about following things in your chart etc - for starters I want to create one of those bulletin boards you mentioned to validate the unconscious - .

Subsequently, when I read you were not comfortable asking for money or expecting you had done the work to receive it – I was more impressed. I hope this comes out right – but it was nice to see you are doing something that takes you out of your comfort zone, let’s say – and it’s not just easy –peasy – as it were . It’s doubly inspiring

I actually realized that I used to be more connected to the idea of getting nurtured by the universe – I think it was because I had had a relatively nurturing family – financially at least I never wanted. It was when I went into the “big harsh world” that I knew I shut something off – I made a sort of conscious decision but I didn’t realize what I was doing – I didn’t know what I had switched off but I realize now it was a cancerian kind of energy that expected to be nurtured by the universe. For some reason I didn’t think it had a place after I left school – I thought I needed to be serious- I’m not sure – I’ll have to reflect on that.

And I hope, as I said, to bring the energy back into my life. I used to have a very easy time of attracting money – so if I manage to do that before your deadline – I will give you half!

As I said I meant to post something for a while to thank you for all your input. And I was hoping after I read about the book that you were still working on these videos so I’m happy to see your latest “installment”! I think it’s a really a fascinating way to start to learn about astrology and the nodes – or start to.

It’s strange too, today, I kept asking my higher self – ok, should I post back now? Don’t ask me why I asked my higher self – aside from the gardening it just didn’t feel right so I would ask and it would say –no – and then I looked just now and you’ve posted about Marilyn Monroe and she had the same nodes as I do –and as I saw that – I didn’t feel any more blocks to posting.

I probably was meant to wait for this . I realize that her nodes are only a certain part of the chart – I like the way you say they are themes in an earlier thread – because they really are themes – I have felt mine my whole life. And I can relate to what you are saying to a certain extent about her .

Actually I was wondering – her south node is in Capricorn in the 6th house – my south node is in Capricorn in the 12th house – how is that possible? Do the nodes move around the chart? My north node is in Cancer in the 6th – am I confused about something here?

The closest thing I had to explain the recurring “theme” I felt was in my life was Jan Spiller’s book “Spiritual Astrology” which describes eclipses (rather apropos since we just had one!) but while I found that book very useful – I have found the nodes were more on the mark in the sense that – my eclipses are the same as my nodes. But a friend of mine who has the same eclipses has opposite nodes.

When we would discuss things over the years, I could never understand how we could come to a sort of understanding or agreement in the middle – ie between the cancerian and capricorn energies I would say now – but she didn’t seem to understand the situations she faced in the same way I did and I didn’t understand her issues – and it makes total sense now understanding our nodes are opposite. She is much more, I would say enmeshed, with her family – and needs to find a sort of framework to pull herself out – whereas – I need to let go and let people help me and nurture and care for things emotionally in myself and my life much more.

It’s all very very fascinating and incredibly helpful and useful. I’m really looking forward to getting the book and I’ve already printed out your notes about Marilyn to look over

By the way, I hope you had a nice eclipse - what magic did the Pleiades bring? Oh, also, I read a person (astrologer of sorts, I think) said that when the eclipse passed over the areas it did – it would somehow clear the people there of issues? I’m not sure if that has any astrological base – I believe she mentioned something about electromagnetic energy being blocked?

Does this make any sense astrologically? Do eclipses affect people astrologically?

PS –I find it absolutely fascinating that astrology is talking about the actual stars up there.

Hi Freesia,

Capricorn may not be as sexy as a Scorpio goddess. I understand that. Once a friend was listing for me his Shivas and Shaktis of the day and then added, and you have been a Green Man for the day, Rick. I wanted to smack him. Who wants to be a Green Man when there's a Shakti or a Shiva?

That said, Capricorn is no less of a god. Ruled by Saturn, it calls the archetypal energy of Kronos, the father of Zeus. He's Father Time and the essence of Father Sky. But he can also be a all work and no play and a curmudgeon if you let him.

I have read several of Steven's books. The Inner Sky deals with the basics of Astrology. The Changing Sky deals with transits and progressions. Both are very handy to go with Yesterday's Sky. His site http://www.forrestastrology.com has more, including a blog on current events and .mp3s of more specific astrological interpretations.

I'll look forward to your posts about how you discover meaning in your own Nodes once you read Steven's book. You asked me how Marilyn Monroe could have Capricorn in the 12th and you in the 6th. The answer is birth time. The first house is set by your Ascendant, or the sign where the Sun rises in the East. All the other houses in the chart follow suit. So a person born even two hours before or after you will most likely have different houses than you.

Eclipses do affect people astrologically. Sandra's column on this site is very good for what that might mean for people. I tend to deal with the the bigger picture right now because I haven't studied the faster events so much. Astrology is a very versatile tool!

All the best,

Rick

Wink The Boss of What?

Hi Rick,

I've enjoyed reading about Elizabeth Taylor and your offer to give us glimpses of other celebrities. I was hoping you might consider Bruce Springsteen. I have a lot of synchronicities with him and he seems quite the complex person. I sense his role in this life is bigger than even his music that he shares with us. I wonder what else he is the boss of!
Thanks Rick. Hope you're well.

Hi GR
Have you ever considered writing something that takes each sign and shows - in a very comical way - the odd side of the astro sign?

Years ago I met a woman who was so brilliant about that - since I'm a Sag I'll use what she said about me. Sag = "The Don Juan of the Zodiac"; Gemini = "The Divine Discontent"; etc.

Sometimes that type of gentle humor can actually help a person realize that they need to move to the more upbeat sides of their astro personality.

Just a thought that smacked me on top of the head

OK Brit - I like your idea very much. But here's a question:

Do you feel you were born a Don Juan or were you born to LEARN how to be more like a Don Juan?
