Hi Brit, SM, Admin, Forum Gods and/or Goddesses . . .
I would like to know if a forum could be added to the board called HISTORY or ALTERNATIVE HISTORY. I am having such a great time reading Frank Joseph’s book – “Atlantis and 2012 “– it’s full of all sorts of information that is just fascinating, in my opinion and it would be great to have a specific forum to put all of these kinds of ideas. ![]() Not to disparage the ENVIRONMENT – but there’s 2 forums for that. One is focused on 2012 – maybe the information in that could be switched over to prophecy? Or, to make it super easy – just rename the ENVIRONMENT forum – that’s just an HTML change I think. I know, easier said than done! Lol ![]() But don’t hold the wonderful/horrible tech details against the idea, please. I appreciate your consideration of this . . . and blame SM if the thought of working with the techs to change anything drives you mad. If it weren’t for “Atlantis and 2012” I never would have mentioned it. Although, I think I may have already suggested this idea – so there you go - I’m just projecting Or, in the non-spiritual vernacular – throwing SM under the bus on this one. ![]() Comon, please. Pleeeaaasse . . Pretty please! Thank you. Note: I would have added many, many, more smilies as a "bribe" but the system limits the number I can use. Imagine many more sprinkled throughout the post, if that will help. Otherwise save your energy and imagine something better : ). Thank you. : ) (those are typo smiley faces - the best I can do - I've reached my limit).

Joanne –
Weird!!! You asked me on one thread what I was reading then came here and holy cow!!! I’ve answered the question you asked on the other thread!!! Frank Joseph’s – Atlantis and 2012!~ Pretty Psychic if you ask me! Have you read anything on Atlantis? Frank Joseph’s book is my first. After a weekend spent with my wonderful computer in pieces I felt guilty asking for any changes that would require anyone anywhere to have to deal with tech-y changes so I was thinking - after reading about the karma associated with Atlanteans – some of the discussion of Atlantis could go under Karma – and then other stuff could go on Earth Changes. Because, I mean changes on the Earth over time - with people - that's history, right? What to you think? You can put your 2 cents in too Lura (or anyone else) if you’d like ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() there’s some smiley bribes for everyone!

Hi Free,
I read a book about Atlantis by Frank Joseph, also. Not the 2012 one--a different one that I can't recall the name of right now. And yes, I guess we could post any of this stuff under karma or earth changes. Why not? My first question about Atlantis would be, that while I believe in the possibilty of it's existence, why is it that no remants of it have ever been discovered? There must have been a massive amount of ruins. I know explorers have searched. Yes, I know that the ocean is vast. And if I am wrong, I hope someone will enlighten me on this. Joanne |

Hi, y'all! I'm very fascinated by Atlantis .... and for whatever odd reasons, I simply believe and accept that it WAS even without physical remains as definitive proof. Maybe there's truth in the theory that our cells hold memories, and those memories may not be 'proven' yet they are still indisputable. Being a nun, I've also realized that so much of what I (and people in general?) believe in is a matter of blind faith. Which I can live with -- but I do continue to seek and question ....
Shirley's views on the subject also fascinate me -- I haven't delved into other authors' speculations, but I do have respect for Shirley's "memories" just as I have respect for my own and others. Maybe we need a whole forum just for Atlantis Not that I desire to freak out the techies even more ![]() |

Hi Joanne
![]() I'll post something over in Earth Changes - a link I found to some possible "proof". I'm not sure why you are skeptical about Atlantis because there's no physical proof - what I mean is - I could understand your skepticism if you said -Plato is the only source other than Edgar Cayce who is a psychic - I mean a lot of people don't trust either of them. Plato because he made up stories to teach philosophy and Cayce well, because his Atlantis does not seem to relate to Platos except in name from what I can tell from Joseph. Most of the time though isn't Archaeology basically some weird "leap of faith?" as Lura describes her ability to believe in Atlantis? Have you ever seen Time Team? It's a British show (I think there's an American version now) and these Archaeologists have 3 days to dig up some place and the places are chosen on the basis of maybe one map or a few pieces of pottery - or a legend - or one roman coin - or the way the hills lie - I mean Mayan temples looked like big hills before they were dug up and I'm not sure why the first guy to dig into them decided to do that! There's a place in Turkey called Catal Hoyuk which is from 7000 years ago! - a city of about 8000 people that was lived in for 1000's of years I think and that looked like hills too before they dug it up - and I don't know why anyone decided to dig that up either! Here's a couple of links to information about Catal Hoyuk if you're curious about that place (I haven't looked at these sites thoroughly yet because of my slow connection so I hope they are informative) - www.smm.org/catal/virtual_tour (looks like a fun virtual tour) www.catalhoyuk.com (official site) http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/08/world/europe/08iht-M08C-TURKEY-DIG.html?_r=1 (a recent article about catal hoyuk) As for Atlantis - I'll post that link I mentioned over in Earth Changes . . . "follow me!" See you there! ![]()

Free,
I didn't mean to sound skeptical about Atlantis. I DO believe that Atlantis did exist. I am just curious as to why there has never been any physical proof of it--you would think there would be. I found the link to Catal Hoyuk very interesting. But even there, some questons are unanswered. Quote " Stone Age paintings don't come with labels explaining what they are." I know that there are many things we either believe or we don't. There isn't always definitive proof. It's just hard to prove one's arguement with a nonbeliever when one can't back up ideas based on belief only. This is why I choose not to discuss these things with people other than on this site. Personally, I have an open mind to just about anything. Joanne |

Hi Joanne,
I noticed that the first 2 links I posted didn't work. I've fixed them. The quote you gave Quote:
Comes from the NYtimes article. You seem to want to be told what the painting means. The problem with ancient history which is of a time that people know little about is that we know nothing about it!! So how can we know what the paintings mean? It's actually a very spiritual experience or can be to investigate the past. Not just because you run into details about life that you might not have known which will confront your belief systems and so change your consciousness - but it's an exercise in not projecting onto another culture. There's always the tendency with people to look at other people and cultures and see them without recognizing what they are projecting onto those people or cultures. If historians are good historians - they don't do this - so you get statements like the one above. If you want proof you have to realize - that you have never had proof in history. WHat you are considering history is just the stories you've been told and have accepted. Because history is a living and breathing and ever changing study. There's certain standards of proof - like there's the scientific method in science - and some people follow it more than others. Frank Joseph does a pretty good job in following it and not making wild leaps of logic. Being open minded, in my opinion, is great compared to being close minded - but after that - you want to start playing with your mind. So the question would be with the paintings - given all that you know - and maybe that's limited - but what could you imagine they could mean - or maybe you can't imagine and that in itself could just be a sort of "wow" moment -that there's been a culture on this earth that is so alien to ours that we have no idea of how to understand them. Sort of humbling, I think - and pretty cool but then I love history.www.smm.org/catal/virtual_tour www.catalhoyuk.com
