While putting my daughter (7) to bed tonight we were talking about the topic "what do you believe in?". The conversation moved to words / thoughts having energy and energy is color.
I asked her these question and these are her answers. Enjoy what color is God - Green what color is Jesus - Blue what color is the Holy Spirit - Red (which also came to my mind) what color are angels - Pink and White

awww that is lovely, Paula
Children are so brilliant and beautiful I feel so blessed having young children right now, too. Even though I am so tired! haha Chris just drew a picture of a vision he had...I'll have to ask him if I can share it. He made me promise a couple of months ago not to share it for some reason. It really is profound though. And I did post his picture of "God" from a couple years ago. It was funny because at the time he was going through his surgeries and couldn't use his right arm, so drew it with his left and I had already received many complaints from teachers that all he did was sit and stare out the window or at the ceiling and wouldn't write (maybe because he had unsupportive teachers and no use of his writing hand, hmm?). Anyway, he informed me that while he was staring out the window or the ceiling, he would "go places"...I've expressed this in chat so not going to go in detail here. With that in mind, one day when I picked him up from school and checked in with his teachers about his day, they very negatively said, "he scribbled a little picture today but didn't do anything he was suppose to". When Chris ran up to me in his normal twinkly moon eye smile, he handed me this scribbled picture with a lot of excitement. So, I looked at it and it looked like a spider web with a spider in the middle. Just the fact that he was able to draw a spider web with his left arm was impressive to me and so I told him that. Then he said, "Do you know what I drew, Mommy?" A spider web, I said. He said, "No, and handed it back to me...look at it again" Again, he was very excited. Then he said, "that is what God looks, Mommy....I drew a picture of God for you." Then as I am standing there in awe, one of the teacher approaches me and says, "that is what he did all day long." with this disappointed attitude ha! My aries self totally detached from my center wanted to blurt out, you ignorant person...if you had half the wisdom this little guy has, you'd be learning from him and not missed the gift he was trying to share with you." BTW I shared this picture somewhere on this board Our children have sooooo much to teach us...every day I am grateful...also for our older generation. Much love, Angelsong

Good for you AS! You are right--we have so much to learn from children. They can certainly teach us a lot. Unfortunately, teachers aren't wired to see beyond the norm and what is accepted (most anyway). Keep encouraging your little one so he won't close it off.
Love, Joanne |
