The Big Elephant

The Big Elephant filled her lungs with a deep breath
Then she released her breathing in a knowing way of consideration
She then grasped the meaning of what she needed to attend
Quietly, she proceeded.

It was like she was swirling in a stream of anticipation
Deep breaths, deep breaths calling her to attention.
What was it that she needed to perceive, she questioned?
Oh, something common but beyond her grasp at this moment.

She was looking for it, searching for it, she needed to breathe
Deeply she breathed, taking one breath in and letting it go
And then the breathing took on a life of its own.
Simply breathing.

The Big Elephant

The Big Elephant had just emerged
From a whirlwind of events
Lifting her head then
She looked around, stabilizing herself.

She drew in a deep breath
To fill her soul and to wash herself free
Another breath then, to let herself center
And then she sighed in deep relief.

And there she found her peace
Within the turmoil of life
She recognized that she still owned
Her presence within every circumstance.

Realizing that she had been caught up in her surroundings
She then stopped and allowed herself to embrace
Her very being once again
Knowing that she was still in control of her reactions.

It had been like a tornado, a hurricane
Swirling her up once and once again
Twirling her about, tossing and tossing her again
Tossing her about.

But then she took hold and said, "No more!"
I will not be taken against my will
I will walk into every experience
Of my own accord.

And so, she found that she once again
Owned her own world
She was again able to manage her own life
Amidst a world of turmoil.

There was turmoil twirling around her
But she refused to be a part of it
She stepped aside and simply
Allowed herself to be.

Though other's choices effected her
She did not have to allow another's choices
To make them her own
She stopped then, and pondered.

Again, she realized that she chose to live
In happiness and joy
And no matter what circumstance she may find herself in
She would find the joy in the moment.

And in this moment, she found peace within herself.
She then lifted her trunk to trumpet
And she roared within her presence
I will maintain my presence.

Sounds like the Big Elephant has been keeping you company these past few days while you recover from your cold, etc. Gently guiding you and keeping things in perspective. I know this is a reflection of what you have been experiencing since August and am happy you are finding your balance again.

The Big Elephant

The Big Elephant was solemn this night
Pensive in her mood
Soft was her rendering
Wrapping herself around her world.

She had experienced the vulnerabilty
Of all around her, each seeking it's own
All responding in a way of their own way
Seeking to survive in some way.

She felt a depth of compassion for all
Yet, not giving up to any
Knowing that each must find their own way
On their own.

Knowing that no one could do it for another.
And there she stood in her stance
Peaceful within the midst of chaos
She lowered her head in prayer.

The Big Elephant gave up to the Universe
Her very heart, praising all along their way
And finding then, the solance that she so needed
To extend herself for yet another day.

Lifting her head then, she began to walk.
For walking had always been her retreat
Always, walking, moving forward
Had always brought her to where....

She needed to be.
