My heart can be soft as rabbit's fur sometimes.
Perhaps that's why i try so hard to protect and conceal it.
But oh... what joy does come (at those times) when i can reveal it.

when knights in shining armor come to slay my dragons
and then carry me away.
And Oh... to those emotions that still can rise within me
to make me feel that same way.

a rare and ancient one -
from a long ago far away place.
i'm not sure from whence or where it came;
but i know it didn't come from Earth.
And i know we weren't ON Earth...
while we were singing it.

gently stirring this one to expand – ahh, so freeing!

My walks take me past the beauties of the world.
Past the tense greens of the grass on guard,
for children who run like rivulets, streaming past the planet
on wings of wonder.

My walks embrace my beauties of the world.
I watch my sons fly past the trees,
I hear the warbling of my little bird of a girl
Who cheeps and giggles and tickles the world with her song.

My walks focus on the beauties of the world.
The blurry sky comes into focus,
The colours sharpen for me as my foot touches threads of life
That wind along the ground
Connecting us all,

Ummmm ..... excuse me? I beg to differ, dear Jade, but yes ~ you ARE a poet! And your poem took me out of MY world for a few moments as I digested it .... and that is a GOOD thing ... that is what genuine poetry does!
