With 98% of districts reporting in as of now, the measure to require food labeling of all GMO products lacks about 500,000 votes to pass.

Very sad time...but the ball is rolling. It has taken same-sex marriage over a decade to become acceptable - no one thought it would at first - but last night voters in four states decided it. Its the first time that same sex marriage has been approved by the electorate after years of court battles and legislative actions.

It's only the beginning now for the fight to defeat the secrecy surrounding GMOs and their ill effects. Back to work!

I think it is good to know that over four million Californians voted for this proposition. The awareness is out there and growing so whether it is a label or a demand for better scientific research and reporting - the fight continues.

I too am sad Prop 37 did not pass. Genetically engineered foods cause cancer and all kinds of illness--even cause people to grow fat with wheat. The food chain is becoming contaminated. If people only knew the damage being done.... Maybe CA will try again soon. I hope my own state, Oregon, will do something about it. If it comes up here, I will join the campaign to help get food labeling passed. Better yet, get GMO's outlawed. Love, Cher.

Good article Rick . Thanks for posting it. I,too, was very disappointed by the deception which obviously was designed to keep this important proposition from passing.

Ay least a larger percentage of the public will be more aware about what they are buying. Hope so!

Called Sacramento and found out that they apparently did not count all the votes! There is still hope for Prop 37! We should hear results any day now!
