Default Camino

Other than Shirley, how many of you have walked the Camino? How many are planning or considering a walk? I am but there are many logistics to thresh through. Basically, I need to take a long meaningful walk. With relative solitude. My friend is considering doing the walk with me. We both have many reasons for doing this. Some concerns are how to get away even though we have children and husbands who would be left for a month and finances and fundraising. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. I am reading everything I can get my hands on, including re-reading Shirley's book, and making notes and lists.

Please share your thoughts and experiences.

Thank you.

Hi Jade!

I came to know about the Camino via Shirley's book about 3 months ago. And I leave the UK on Thursday to start it. I've put more details in the Transformational Travel section of the board but yup, October 7th I begin the walk from St Jean Pied de Port. I'm ridiculously excited but for me, planning the walk was quite easy. I just had to get over the nerves and the "But what if..." side of things and go ahead and book that flight.

... ditto from me, what Shelley said!

I pray that the Camino will be all that it needs to be for you ~ sounds like you're going with a big open heart and will receive graciously all that will be. Excellent!

Am sooo excited for you, and will hold you in prayer every day.

Traveling mercies, (((samcrawford)))!!

Love,
Lura

Thankyou both very much!

All my last minute bits and bobs were done today, taxi booked to take me to the airport and traveller's cheques organised. I can't believe that on Thursday I'm leaving!
