Shirley MacLaine presented an incredible one-of-a-kind show last night in Torrington, CT. Fascinating, ENTERTAINING, Humorous, Historical...and Spiritual. What a wonderful show; I am glowing from it, still, this morning! If you can get to a Shirley MacLaine Show anywhere near you: GO! If you love Shirley, show biz, film, and things metaphysical...this is right up your alley. We got to meet Terry, too. I finally got to say hello to Shirley MacLaine. A lifetime dream comes true! I agree! I saw her show in Schenectady, the day before the CT show; and she was fabulous! I loved watching her face react, as she watched the movie clips. The retrospective consisted of beautiful pieces from each movie, and a Q&A session afterwards. She'd pause between photo and movie clips, and then explain to us, what had been going on behind the scenes. She was intelligent, entertaining, and completely down to earth. I loved it, loved it, when she talked about UFO's. I could have listened to her forever, withthat subject; having had witnessed two events, myself.
Most of all, I loved Shirley's frankness. When you ask a question, be prepared for an honest answer. It may not be what you want to hear, but it will surely be what you need to hear, and I found that quite refreshing. Shirley gave us many good snip-its of advice, too. Such as, how to be confident, in who you are; and I took it to heart. I feel that I was meant to be there at that time, to hear that. One piece of her wonderful advice, was to be sure to be centered within yourself; especially, whenever you are having a negative encounter. To know, that when someone approaches you from a place of negativity, it is not your personal truth. We were also, able to meet the noble Terry, and witnessed the wonderful relationship, between the two of them. As a major animal lover, I really loved that. Terry gave us all a hearty laugh, as she sat on the chair, at the center of the stage, with a spot light cast upon her. She regally surveyed the audience below her, with absolute calm; as if she were the queen, holding court. That is most certainly, a centered dog. I loved her. I think I know why, Shirley is so crazy about Terry. There really is something, about her. I left Proctor's Theater feeling positive, energetic, motivated, and happy. It was a wonderful evening. Go see her, if you have a chance. You will love it.

Thank you for the wonderful reviews, Tess and Pegan, they are much appreciated! I am at her shows in spirit, and can picture it all in my mind, even Terry basking in the center-stage spot-light! Maybe the powers that be will magically archive a show for us ...
Again, many thanks! Love, Lura ![]() |

Last night My husband and I had the pleasure of seeing Shirley in Torrington, CT from the second row! She came out looking beautiful in black slacks and a black and white printed top. Right from the start, she was so charming and funny, she had the audience eating out of the palm of her hand. A couple of times she said, "what is said in this theatre, stays in this theatre", so I can't tell you everything, haha.
She did a retrospective of her life and career with a slide show and movie clips. Then when she was ready for the question part of the show, Terry came running out and jumped in her chair. My husband Pat got up to ask a question. We had an original playbill from 1954 when Shirley was understudy for Carol Haney in "Pajama Game." This is when she got her big break. Anyway, Pat asked her is she would sign the playbill. She seemed excited that we had it and when she took it from him, pretended to walk off the stage with it! She did sign it for us. Pat then asked if he could pet Terry. Shirley tried calling her over but she wouldn't come. BUT, when she was saying goodnight, she started on the opposite end of the stage from us--we had walked right up to the stage by now. Pat called Terry over and she came running right to us! We petted her and she was licking Pat's hand-a really sweet dog! When Shirley got to our side, she shook Pat's hand. As if this wasn't enough, they were selling books in the lobby and Shirley would be signing them. Well, I have all of her books but so what? I bought Sageing While Agineg to have her sign. There must have been about 200 people with books to sign, so she didn't do a lot of chitchat. But I was thrilled to see her sitting there with a glass of red wine and got my book signed! By the way, she mentioned she is starting a new book! Something to look forward to. I wish all of you could have been there for this fabulous evening with this beautiful legend. I know you would have loved it as much as I did! Joanne |

Thanks for the additions, Joanne & Skip! Each tid bit adds more color to the evening's tale. How tantalizing: "what is said in his theatre, stays in this theatre..." Filling in the gaps is enough to make one's imagination work over-time, lol.
Great news to hear Shirley's starting a new book!! YEA!!! ![]() |

I would also like to share here that I just saw my first UFO a couple of months ago! So, when Shirley talked about UFOs in her show, I had an entirely new perspective. First Hand! I was driving in my own hometown here in CT and I saw them. It was of the Bright Orange Light, flying in synchronized timing and pattern and Completely Silent variety.
I drove toward it until I was closer and got out of my car. Another car came up right behind me and also pulled over, and a man got out of his car. He saw me staring straight up at the sky and he exclaimed, "What is that!??" Thank you for sending a witness, I thought. Otherwise I would think it was me seeing things. This man and I stood all alone for about 3 to 4 minutes just watching. (But NOT ALONE at all... ) The main formation of Orange Lights hovered motionless in the sky. Silent. It seemed to be huge. The lights were perfectly spaced and it just hung there. No sounds. Then it moved forward, seemingly slowing at first, the speeded up...and flew off. THEN: Immediately behind it flew in perfect timed sequence a series of about 6, One Orange Light (craft?) flew by. The single orange lights flew one at a time, perfectly timed and sequenced and followed in the exact same direction of the major craft that had about 7 or 8 orange lights on it. Orange Lights: bright shining orange fire globes. As each single Orange Light flew fast silently, it would just disappear in the night sky. About 6 of the Single Orange Lights flew behind, but in the same direction, as the major craft. The man and I just stood there watching silently. I found out that he went home and called the police and the paper, because the paper put the "news" in its blog as a "someone witnessed" item. But the paper did not follow up any story on a UFO sighting. And the local police department claimed ignorance of the event. Even though the Orange Lights were hoving right over the vicinity of the police department! The police "tried" to say that it was "chinese lanterns" being lit by a local church group. Those were NO Chinese lanterns that high in the sky! I was really freaked out for about a week after because I live alone in the woods and I am capable of being spooked by these things. UNLIKE Shirley, I do NOT want to be taken up in a craft for a Look-See. But I have had a UFO sighting event. |

Hello
Congratulations Tess. Don't be spooked - if they wanted to destroy us they would have, right? I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Deb, my film life is taking most of the time now. I don't know when I can get back to TX. Thank you Skip. Thank you Patswife. Thank you Photo51. Sisterlura we haven't filmed any yet. Hopefully in the future.

Good Lord! I see a UFO, AND Shirley MacLaine comments on it! Two out of this world experiences. (good point Ms. Mac, that if they had wanted to harm us they would have done it by now. But I still don't want them showing up on my front lawn!)
