Default US Drone Strike Phone App

Good morning everyone.

I was listening to Santa Fe Public Radio this morning as I was getting ready for work (I have a habit of tuning into NPR stations around the country at different times) while they were airing Democracy Now, and they were playing a piece about a new smart phone app called Metadata+ that I think some of you might be interested in.

The app was rejected by Apple five times previously because it was called "Drone Strike" or something to that effect and deemed, by Apple (or others?), to be "inappropriate." The app was accepted with the title "Metadata+" and what it does is send you notifications on your phone each and every time a US drone strike hits anywhere and kills or injures anyone and/or destroys property--usually kills people, though. I downloaded it, and is a really good reminder of the lives that are destroyed on a daily basis--and for what?

Of course, downloading an app like this will likely put you on the NSA watch list, but many of us here are likely already on it.

Namaste from the Midwest,
stephanie
