Great idea Joanne! Sounds like you had a splendid day with your dear family! I just luv this time of year! We have one golden delicious apple tree but this year's early dry spring and very hot long summer have produced many small 'gnarly' apples...squirrels just love them though!
Here's a family recipe for MacIntosh Apple Pie that's been in the MacIntosh family for a few generations..hope yawl like it !
pre-heat oven to anywhere between 350 -375 ! I just loved my grandma from Nova Scotia! We're lucky we got measurements! Her ovens varied! I use 375 and keep an eye on the crust edges..just like pumpkin pie
one unbaked pie crust
5-6 grated apples, any of your fave kind for pie making
1c. brown light sugar
8 oz. sour cream
2 beaten eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
mix all the above ingredients and pour into unbaked shell
bake for about 1hr. and 10 minutes ...Bon Apetite!
