A perspective On Tribulation
Since God's ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8); things will not go our way when we enter the Kingdom of God; Thus the Kingdom of God is a tribulation to our ego.
Perhaps in the Old Testament when the Jews asked for a king to govern them they preferred to be ruled by someone they had some control over rather than the un-impeachable authority of a God. (1 Samuel 8:5-7)
i love Isaiah 55:12-13. i wrote about it long ago on these boards.
"... and ye shall go out with joy and be lead forth with peace.
And the mountains and the hill shall break before you with singing,
and all the trees in the field shall clap their hands. Instead of
thorns, shall come up the fir tree and instead of brier shall
come up the myrtle tree..."
Mercifully, I only had to glance thru 3 books of the O.T to locate the second passage reference.
Gideon is the version i chose. Though i too have
4 different versions of the bible on my bookself
and refer to all in order to get as close to a true
translation as i can. The other three are King James,
International and New Jerusalem. But my favorite
