We Are of Eternal Love by Miya Lusions
I am grateful to have read We Are of Eternal Love, one of my favorite books, several times now. I say grateful because I was able to read it before it was published—I am lucky enough to know the author personally. She graciously allowed me a copy of her ground-breaking work.
(As an aside, Miya is the “real” creator of this book which she wrote using the author as a channel.)
We Are of Eternal Love is a book like no other. While written in English, the choice of words, cadence and subject matter seem other-worldly. The rhythm of the phrasing draws you in and beckons you to find the deeper meaning. Each sentence is layered with texture and depth. There is so much content here that this book can be read time after time with new discoveries made each time. It becomes a familiar friend with hidden profundities deliciously revealed.
The story is an autobiography. It covers the expanse of three lifetimes existing in one. The first life begins without form and in an almost psychedelic explosion becomes a physical being. The description of how this comes about is reading of Creation Itself. This lifeform becomes Miya, and Chapter One is dedicated to her life among the peoples of Mayan times. There is much to be relished in her life in these times, not the least of which is the greatest love scene I have ever read. It leaves nothing to the imagination, and yet it leaves everything. It is unprecedented in its beauty.
This life leaves Miya unfulfilled, however, and to learn about fear she chooses to take on another persona, that of Nomi, a Native American. It is during Nomi’s life that she fully realizes that she is part of a collective “we.” She has flashbacks and flash-forwards to other existences that bring her to realize that she is many personalities in one, a “whole being within the whole of being.”
Anon, our third person, is leading a challenging but fulfilling life in the present time. The chapters and passages devoted to her are intriguing and, as seen through Nomi’s eyes, compelling. She and Nomi develop a bond that extends beyond space and time. All three women become aware that together they are so much more than just one individual.
Much of the book is seasoned with reflections from Miya. She has a broader perspective than most of us. We are given the benefit of her wisdom. Everyone can gain from the knowledge she imparts.
In summary I would like to say that this is one of the finest books I have read. Don’t let its different style of writing put you off. You will miss out on some fine stories and a ton of insight. And the style will come to haunt you as you remember the stories and their meanings.
WOW, Cher, you have truly captured the core essence of Deb’sbook. What a great review. I know Deb has already received not only several compliments, but heartfelt comments from readers sharing how it has helped them look at experiences in their own lives differently.
I never cease to be amazed how the artistry of the words are so visual, it is like stepping into a canvas where you can feel yourself within the painting. It is beautifully written and has many layers of thought-provoking concepts. I have re-read it many times and broadened my own scope of awareness with each reading. And for that, I am grateful.
Just a reminder for those here who may be interested, Deb’s book is available in Kindle and Soft Cover form at Amazon.
Flash of Insight
I just recently finished attending an online 10-day seminar sponsored by Hay House called the 2014 World Summit. I am so blessed to be able to have the time to participate in such an event at this time in my life. It was fabulous. Anyway, while listening to one of the speakers, a sudden flash of insight came to me relating to the book We Are of Eternal Love, and I just want to share it.
There is a one-page Prelude to Chapter 1 entitled “The Language”.It is written phonetically with its translation beneath each line as it was given to the author. To the English speaking mind, the words look like gibberish, but when you hear it spoken the connection is felt and its interpretation unique to the listener. In the beginning, I thought the book’s references to the Language were just about that specific Language. Now, this recent flash of insight has expanded my perception to considering it as a Metaphor. Every culture has its own language (English, Spanish, etc.). Yet, if we just relied on the learning of each, many of us would not be communicating with each other. But we can and do communicate in other ways…through our eyes, our touch, music, art, even body language. And underlying all of that is the message on the Prelude’s Language page: Love. We are all one, we all are Love. That is our connection. This, to me, is what the “new energy” of today is all about … connecting, communicating, community, realizing our oneness with everyone and everything, all anchored in Love.
From a depth of love, the author has been gifted (and gifted the reader) with a remarkable way of expressing through words multiple layers of feeling and understanding. Let me illustrate with just one excerpt:
“How can I express beauty in a sense that another would know of the essence that prevailed in this time, in this space? The air was thick with a liquid smell, or so it seemed, in that it enticed us to venture into its depths. As if with instinctual aspects, we followed our sense of smell, our sense of feeling, our sense of knowing, and there again we were brought to the rhythmic flow of the waves of the ocean. The water there was denser, yes, but it was just as cleansing and just as free in its movement. And so, we dove in to find its luxuriant being encasing us, just as the water had done from whence we came.”
Isn't that beautiful? To think of the water as its own luxuriant Being, and as we interact with it, we are one with it. Gives one a whole new sense of experience, doesn't it? This to me is the power of books like this, which I consider of a spiritual nature. They speak to our sub-conscious, and through their story, they teach and can birth a meaningful shift in our understanding of life.
