Where do you think the World is Going?

I am worried about the horrible state the World is in and where mankind is going. This is apart of my consciousness on a regular basis and it is not healthy for me. I know in my heart and soul that we are in VERY bad shape, and the world is extremely fragile and vulnerable.

It frightens me that modern technology has made great advances and is moving forward so quickly, and mankind is moving backwards. Mother Nature is out of whack and she is letting us know with her dramatic and creative dance of life. LOVE, what does love have to do with it? Do we value LOVE like we use to? NO....NO.....NO. I wonder if we really know LOVE. What is LOVE anyway? Money, what is money all about? I believe it has helped separate us even more. Fear, is here to make us appreciate and understand LOVE. Fear is our teacher.

I remember Marianne Williamson once said that in time we all will LOVE one another all the time. She said a time will come when we will visit a country and we won't need passports any longer, all we will have is a little smiley face on a paper and say hi......She also said when we walk into a restaurant we will smile and say hi to everyone. I think on a very profound level this will be true, but when?

Marianne said that if there was a nuclear war and let's say there were 5 people left on this planet, these 5 people would say, do you think we can get along. This has always stayed with me.

The Dalai Lama once said that the United Nations should have a member from every nation praying for peace. He also stated that we should recognize and acknowledge other nations as our domestic partners. Partners working together for a peaceful, productive and loving world.

Dear GOD...we need a miracle. Please place your loving hands on our hearts and souls. Touch us with your warm grace and make us more alive than before. Dear GOD....this is the 11th hour and we need a miracle. Make us more aware of our infinite beauty, and let us share this beauty with the world.

I am curious to know where you think the world is going.

P.S...I love when Shirley asks her IE Radio show guests why they are so optimistic about the future of the world. I understand where she is coming from.

Love, Light & Miracles,

There are many feeling what you are feeling. I'm not one of them. Yes, I see the troubles facing this world and its inhabitants but I also know (operative word is know) that all is not lost. I know Nature is cleaning but that her cleaning is not unusual. I know that some people appear to be completely loosing it, but I know that more are centered, grounded and progressing. I know what love is to me but I can't define it for you or anyone else because it has become an abused term. I know that in the greater spectrum of Creation I can only change me and be responsible for me and allow that energy I manifest flow to others. But I also know that I cannot (and don't want to) control them or what they experience from me. I cannot be responsible for their actions, only mine. I can only be my brother's keeper if they accept my invitation to help.

I know I can only be the best I can be and improve upon self constantly.

I don't think we will - in our lifetimes - see a world without boundaries. But to me the boundaries are political anyway. My passport - to my way of thinking - is a paper with a happy face that permits me to experience other peoples, their cultures and their worlds. It isn't a boundary or a hinderance - it's an invitation. But then I look at the differences in peoples and cultures as an opportunity to understand myself better.

There's absolutely no reason why we can't walk into restaurants now and smile and say hi. I do it. I do it walking down the street, at the gas station, in the grocery store. It's my way of sharing the happy contentment I feel. Not everyone responds in kind but the majority does. Maybe they'll share that feeling with others?

As for prayer - it is powerful. It's powerful because it's not just speaking with Creation, it's practicing what you're talking to Creation about. If you want what you see as negative to change, change it in your life. Let it flow from there.

It's easy to fall into victim mode and want to be saved by something but I think we have to save ourselves first. There are aspects of life that out of our control. If we recognize that we can only start to make change by changing ourselves then we are creating a chain reaction of change - at least that's how I see it. If I plant a tree, I'm starting a forest.

NYS, thank you for your post. It's thoughtful and real. I wish I had answers that helped you but I know my words are only answers for me. I'm curious what SM has to say about this as the world's upside-downness bothers her as well.

Hang in there -

Wonderful Thoughts of Wisdom & Truth Brit

Brit,

Thanks for being so present and offering your wonderful thoughts of wisdom, truth and compassion. We all should be more like you. You are an amazing role model. I remember when we first chatted in the chat room, I sensed you had that extra something special.

In a strange way I feel somehow responsible for the state of the world conditions, and I believe that everyone else does too. After all, there is only one of us here. I think on a very deep and profound level we all want to save the world and each other. It's our soul's inherent essence and nature, to be at peace, in love, nurturing and united with one another.

I also believe that is why I am so disturbed and frustrated with the state of the world on a regular basis. Maybe I am feeling guilty that I contributed to this mess and I can't fix it. How crazy is that ! I'm not sure that it is. I think whatever I'm feeling, so are my soul brother's and sister's.

I believe in happy endings. I believe in LOVE and I believe in myself.

Peace,
NYSpirit

I was taking a shower this morning and I was thinking why am I so frustrated. Maybe, just maybe, I have been through all of this madness before. I sense this stuff is too familiar to me. Could it be that I lived in a time when much dysfunction, devastation and destruction occurred. It may very well be.

Today, I will focus on prayer and meditation and world peace.

Peace,
NYSpirit

Hello Chi,

I wish I had such a cavalier attitude like yours....LOL !
Maybe that's good to live and let be.

Peace,

Not sure cavalier is the right word; maybe resigned
(not completely resigned but a little)
i grew up in the streets pretty much. From the time
i was 12, i was rebelling big time against my father
and i finally ran away from home when i was 16;
literally with broken ear drums from a blow to my
head, never to return again. True story. So from the
very start, the world was not a stable place for me.
Not my world anyway. Too funny...
But in my early 20's (back in the 70's) i came across
this elderly Jewish man who changed my life.
He owned a well known big home improvement
company here in the Chicago land area and i had
applied for a job at one of the main branch. He
would watch me ( i'd see him from the corner of my
eye) and think "oh another old sleeze ball who wants
to get in my pants". But that wasn't the case at all.
Later he would tell me it was my street wisdom
that intrigued him. Time would pass and in the
months to come he took me under his wing
(never laid a hand me sexually) and taught me
everything there was to know about sales and
marketing and business. And he put me in charge
of lead generation for all 6 branches. i worked for
him for 25 years.
Anyway, one of the things he used to say was:
"When you are worrying about something, ask
yourself if you have any control over the situation
right now. If you don't, stop worrying about it.
Only focus on what you have control over.
Otherwise you waste energy that you could be
applying to solutions around the problem"

This applies to everything and anything in life
including the world.
Do i have great reservations about all this growing
technology that is putting thousands of people out
of work and invading our privacy? Yes. Do i see
the perplexities involved in switching over from oil
to more earthly friendly energies like solar and wind
in a world economy that thrives on oil and war products?
Yes. Can i see the confusion the animals and plants
are going thru in the midst of all this climate change
and global warming? Yes.
But i don't have control over these things. i only have
control over me. Like Brit said, try to be the best i can be.
Create within yourr own private world a world of passive
resistance, of love and understanding and forgiveness
(not just for others but yourself too) and compassion
and any other good thing you can think of. Every day
some small act of kindness. It's like that old Crosby,
Stills, Nash & Young song "Wooden Ships".
"We are leaving, you don't need us." We are creating
and must continue to create our own worlds. Watch
your thoughts. When you start to worry; is it some
thing you can control right now? If not, stop and
focus on what you can control. Easier said than done,
eh? i know... but try to stay positive, always in search
of the magic that life brings now and then.
Love,
Chi
