Drinking in the Lite?
Anyone interested in discussing drinking in the lite? I confess, this thread was inspired by last night's chat that included discussion of the latest cocktail sensation of the new year--the Shirley-tini, which is a gluten free martini with onions. I'm attaching a photo of said 'tini here made with gluten free Tito's Vodka. Tito's is not perfect, however, as it is made with corn (a GMO culprit) and not potato. Alas, the mediocre bar I chose does not have potato vodkas.
Another topic--Brit this is for you--just discovered a lovely organic, sulfite free red wine called Frey's. It is also claims that it does not use GMO yeast.

By the way--Shirley, as a southern girl originating from within spittin' distance of the Appalachian mountains, you'll appreciate this--I do believe that moonshine is gluten free. As a girl, myself, originally from the south and spending a precious and glorious few years in Tennessee for English graduate school, I am intimately familiar with Smoky Mountain moonshine and recommend Popcorn Sutton's.

Have to do the gluten free vodka for the Shirley-tini. It's difficult to find but it is the real deal: made from potatoes.
Waive the Vermouth over it. Add a drop or two.
Add a couple of cocktail onions and a drop of onion juice then stir. Don't shake. (Bond never understood the delicacies of the flavors.)
