Have been contemplating the human heart;
how delicate it truly is ( Beautiful really,
when it opens like a flower to embrace itself)...
But what is it made of? Not the one that pumps blood thru
our bodies, but the ethereal heart; what does it consists of?
i think of the many stories of people who have died and
come back; how they say they go towards the light and feel
immersed in cosmic love. Are they walking right into the heart
of consciousness? And could the heart of consciousness be the
heart of God? And is that what our hearts are made of too?
Are they one and the same; Heart and Consciousness?
Consciousness and God? Is that the God that is within?
Think about it? When we are feeling our hearts, what is the
heart essentially? Where are those feelings coming from?
Again i think of how delicate the heart is; my own heart in
particular. i remember once i said to Brit "some things we just
don't get over". Like for instance, my father (among many fine
outstanding attributes) was a pedophile and that caused great
damage to my heart. i truly believe i am quite content today
flying solo as a result. Now Shirley would say i created it all in
order to navigate thru it all to arrive at just this place of
contentment. But while that notion resonates with me, it also
prompts me to wonder just how far back the damage goes?
How many lifetimes back does it go?
Or is it that we are all one heart and the damage is collective
for the myriad reasons; from the myriad harmful things
happening all at once? And what we feel in our hearts is
every heart. Perhaps that's what empathy truly is? Feeling
the cosmic heart.
You may say to me you don't have these troubles; your heart
is fine. and that's fine.
But what i'm realizing is (tho i am at peace and quite content
with myself these days) my heart is still broken and has been for
a very long time. Just an observation. No prayers please. i'm fine.
But if you should be inclined to share some revelation you have
about your own heart? or some revelation you have about the
cosmic heart? Well now, that would be grand. Soft Grin...
Joy and Light,
Blessings, Chi! Thanks for the heartfelt post! <3
Chi, Loved your post. I agree with your comment "what we feel in our hearts is every heart" and the "cosmic heart." Sometimes when I hear horrible news stories about people suffering, it effects me so deeply. It will stay with me for days or weeks and makes me so sad. I agree with what I once read somewhere that "we are all one, so whatever happens to one of us is essentially happening to all of us." That makes sense to me and explains why I feel so strongly.
Many people would probably disagree with this and say they are not effected in the same way. Maybe they are closed off to this "cosmic oneness." Or it just isn't their path this time around. It's probably much easier that way!
So, thanks Chi. Love reading your posts.
Thanks everyone for your replies.
Regarding your statement "Many people would probably
disagree with this and say they are not effected in the same way..."
i thought about that... and had to laugh as it hit me. Isn't that
one of the symptoms of a broken heart; to shut down and
remain so to some extent to protect itself from feeling? And so
now i see that Denial may be involved too.
i continue to contemplate the human heart and the heart of all
things in general and the state of our affairs... and it keeps
bringing me back to the same conclusion: It seems all the
imbalance and dysfunction in the world can be traced back to
a broken heart. Can it be that simple and yet that complex?
And if this is so.... How do we mend the broken heart of
Thank you for this thread, it is comforting.
Thank you, Di -
YOUR words are comforting; as are everyone's in this thread.
Maybe that's it. Random acts of kindness. One random act
of kindness per day by every single soul on the planet. Maybe
it's something (like that) so small that will make the huge
difference. The trick is how do you get every single soul on
the planet to do it; to remain committed to do it? When so
many of us are on auto-pilot.
Love to All,
i've been thinking about individual perspective (and
collective perspective too for that matter) and how
it changes; in an hour, in a day, in a year, in a lifetime.
Joe shoots a man dead in the course of robbing a
Seven-Eleven. The same Joe buys a cup of coffee and a
breakfast sandwich for a homeless guy who waits outside
a do-nut shop each morning. He does this for years.
To the family of the man who's life Joe took, Joe is
evil; he's a murderer. He doesn't deserve to be on
on the streets or the planet. But to the homeless guy,
this same Joe is a compassionate man and a Godsend,
and the homeless guy will always remember the kindness
of this Joe and see him that way.
And what about Joe's perspective? It will change countless
times through out his life too. We are the sum of many parts,
many experiences, many deeds and who we are changes
over and over again as a result.
My father caused me great psychic harm, and while he was
alive that was all i could see. We were estranged for almost
30 years as a result. But when i was told he had passed -
suddenly i saw the whole life; suddenly that one part of his
life could not hold a candle to the whole life. Suddenly it wasn't
about MY life anymore. It was about his; the full essence of his
life before me and after me. My father was well loved by his
community and they came out in droves to his wake with story
upon story of his kindnesses and good character. There was
something one of his ex-girlfriends said that stood out to me
more than anything else. She said: "but there was a sadness
about him sometimes; as if something ate at him but he would
never talk about it". My father wasn't perfect. No one knows that
more than me. But after he died here's what became quite clear:
My father had a good heart.
i am reminded of that line from the Wizard to the Tin-man:
"A heart is not judged by how much YOU love, but by how much
YOU are loved by others"
It's not our mistakes that define us, but rather what is in our
hearts regarding things that defines us. When someone has a
good heart, you can see it, you feel it and you love them for it.
