Inspiration from a Kogi BBQ truck
There was an interview this morning on NPR's Morning Edition with Roy Choi, the founder of Kogi BBQ food truck in LA. I am completely unfamiliar with Choi and his vans, but as he was talking about his bumpy start as a young man trying to find his way in the world and trying to find himself and his purpose, he made a profound statement with which many of us are familiar. It is intellectually easy to grasp, but--of course--so difficult to remember when you are actually in the throws of tragedy. Choi put it this way:
"The worst thing that happened in my life actually was the gateway to what I was supposed to do in life."
Words to live by.
