I received this today - thought you might want to know....

We need the help of all! The NJ Board of Massage and Bodywork has promulgated regulations that will make it a crime to practice hands-on energy work and light touch therapies in NJ without a massage license after 8/30/13.

Why is this a problem? Energy work is not massage! This regulation will force all of our HWPN energy and light touch practitioners to lose their livelihoods unless they spend a lot of time and money to go back to massage school and learn a skill they will never use. In addition, it will deprive people of much needed healing services - both in hospitals and in the community. The people who really need these modalities will be affected the most.

Please help us communicate with NJ Legislators and the NJ Board of Massage by signing our petition to exempt Energy and Light Touch Practitioners from massage licensure. Also, please ask your family, friends and those who have been helped by these modalities to sign. Post of FB, communicate by email, etc. Let the legislators hear our voices loud and clear!

You can sign the petition at:

Thanks for your support!

Thanks for sharing this, Brit. As a Reiki Master 3 I know how important this issue is to healers and the people who have been helped by our services.
I signed.

For Brit

Was happy to sign. These new "rules" are outrageous!

I think energy healers must be very intimidating to the medical community in New Jersey, a state with some heavy duty financial woes after Sandy. This sort of bilking the innocent really is nuts. As you know, I am really against injustice in any form. Hope everyone will join in on this one.

Thanks for posting this Brit.

Love,
Wolfdog
