Hello All...

..I'm new to Shirley's site but wanted to greet those of you who are members. Lots of interesting subjects on the site but reincarnation is one that I have really strong feelings about. That is, I believe that I have been here before on earth. I feel that perhaps I've been here many times, which probably does not make me unique from many others here.
I have a couple of questions I'd like to pose as I'd love to get some feedback. First, is there anyone else out there who has a hard time reconciling their belief in reincarnation with their faith? That is the case for me. I'm a Christian but I believe in reincarnation and I'm sure most of you would know that these two things don't jive, for lack of a better term.

Secondly, has anyone here ever been told by another soul that they were the reincarnation of someone? This has happened to me while I was having other spiritual experiences as well. In that context, it was an extremely powerful moment in my life.

Anyhow, I'd love to hear stories from others on the site and also see what the responses are to my questions. Take good care all.

Hello Fess and welcome!

Good questions and good topic :) I hope everyone chimes in here.

Personally I don't have religion, but I believe in God and attended church more times a week than I care to recall as a youngster. I was fortunate that my parents never demanded and in fact suggested I explore all religions and philosophies. Both parents were 'Christian' and both reconciled reincarnation easily but, as they told me, you have to find your own understanding.

I've had many reincarnation recognitions but on an experiential level - not because someone told me.

Anyone want to share their stories?

Hi Fess,

In my experience of knowing, there is not only reincarnation of coming back again and again but there is also the existance of multidimentional simultaneous lives. We, in this time frame, think of continuous lives in linear time. When actually, all is occurring in "circular" time where we exist in different dimensional "times" all at once, simultaneously.

I personally don't hold to someone else telling me that I was a reincarnation of someone else. I go within to discover that for myself through meditation. So much is revealed through meditation within oneself. We don't need another to tell us anything. We hold all of our "truths" within ourselves.

I had to edit to put this in about religions. I don't participate in manmade religions because they separate all of us. Yes, I was raised a "Christian" but then through my research, I found that the "Bible" was fabricated by man to instill fear and control. What I know of God and the Christ Consciousness is simply "Love". So, I guess you could say I'm into Love.

Welcome here and welcome these discussions.

Love,
Deb

I can't say I've had a difficulty with reincarnation...I can say I've had difficulty with faith.

As to the second question, I've experienced past-life recall, sometimes alone and sometimes with the help of hypnotists, bodyworkers, astrology. It has always meant more to me than just being told.

cheers,
Rick

Thank you all so much for the kind responses. Rick, when you say you have more trouble with faith, is it a higher power that you question? Just curious.

Deb, that is quite a deep response and I appreciate it. I understand what you mean about someone telling you that you've been reincarnated. When it happened to me I was on the street, weeping, in a sort of semi-meditative state of bliss. This happened back in 2004. The man I met on the street began a conversation with me about past lives. Earlier that year and leading up to the day I met him, I was thinking that God was trying to tell me something and reincarnation was a part of it. That is, during the spring of 2004 I was feeling and having strong emotions about the subject, but I had difficulty discerning the message. Then a few months down the road, I have the conversation with this fellow on the street. Coincidence? What are you guys feelings on coincidences?

For me, I have faith in a grand plan, but obviously I believe in a soul's free will. There is a kind of gray area in there where we do what we want but God in my mind is still working his plan.

Brit, could you tell me more about how your parents reconciled it? If it's too personal no worries. I believe I've done so in my own mind. It's just that most all Christian churches don't hold a belief in reincarnation. Would you all say that it's more like that kind of Eastern philosophy is rejected by those who proclaim they are Christians?

I have read about a study that I think was done in the 90s which said that 1 in 5 Christians believed in or at least weren't sure about reincarnation.

To be honest with you all, I'm really secure in my beliefs even if I can't find a church that fits them all in.

Again thanks for the responses and I look forward to more chatting with you all. :)

Warmly,

Jeffrey

Hi Jeffrey and all

Hey it s some good questions .. I have often been thoughtful when some spoke of reincarnation .. I think you can do many things .. in this universe when traveling around with the soul and reincarnate ... with the free will. Perhaps it could "just" be our own consciouesnes that guides us /the soul around, and "read" other people's minds .. so you do not have to incarnate.

For Myself I do not feel I have been here on this planet before.
I remember where I came from, and is aware of where I should go back to when the time comes to it, maybe all of us who are on this Earth, could the task be learning's acceptance of each other's religions. where I "belong "is there no form of religion, yes oneness, love, .. understanding of eternity.

But I'm sure many have been here before, there are really some that can describe the life they have lived in other countries. etc.etc ...

I have faith...in my healing,..in what I see,..and and what I believe in.

And I understand why ..others dont,...or cant understand all this.

I think that we all have different karma, visions, even though we are incarnated now, in the same timeline. Could be why so many discusions World wide,...about incarnation.....and what about all the "walk ins",..they have another missions,..they have never been here before,...and what could be theirs missons?? so many questions for all of us LOL.

Have a wonderful day...here is my Little drawing of The Flying Pearls...

Hi Jeffrey,

I reject the man-made concept of a higher power as a restrictive device., i.e., "god will punish you." This to me, creates the opposite of true faith. While I find meaning in ceremony, ritual, prayer etc... things that create a "faith," I have no anchor for a faith as an identity, such as "I am a Buddhist, I am Jewish etc..."

I have also been blind to faith much of my life. Faith as a trust and a security in what is unknown to me as something good, helpful, graceful or divine. It is this kind of faith that I practice for myself these days. I have to make a conscious choice to practice it or else I simply limit myself to despair It is slowly developing and unfolding for me as tangible evidence of real life experience. This holds great meaning for me.

with love,
Rick

Christianity used to have reincarnation as one of their teachings, but it was removed by those in power because believing that one life is NOT all there is made people too hard to control by the leaders.
