Non-GMO labeling
1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone!

Wasn't sure where to put this thread--I know we had one going some time back about non-GMO status/updates/etc. I was just roaming around Whole Foods and saw that it is starting to implement its non-gmo labeling program. See attached label that I took a photo of--non-GMO tahini paste (yum!).

This is as important:

Between October 18 and November 5 the next big GMO-labeling vote will take place in the United States; this time in Washington State, where citizens will cast their votes for the people's initiative 522, "The People's Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act."

Initiative 522 (I-522) will require seeds, raw agricultural commodities, and processed foods to be labeled if they’re produced using genetic engineering.

If you know someone in WA let them know!

I posted this in another thread, but it's worth a repost here . . .

I heard that this initiative failed to pass. How did that happen? What sort of media campaign did Monsanto, et al. launch to convince people to vote against knowledge, informed consent, and their own best interest (not that this would be a first)?!

Anyone out there in WA who can enlighten us?
