There has been a campaign recently to brand Coconut Oil as having just as much fat as butter, therefore not any healthier.
Today, this from Dr. Mercola's FB page "50% of the fat content in coconut oil is lauric acid which your body converts into monolaurin, which has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-protozoa properties. Coconut oil is about 2/3 medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), which produce a whole host of health benefits, including stimulating your metabolism. MCFA's are also immediately converted to energy so like avocados, coconut oil is an ideal replacement for carbs."
I use coconut oil all the time for cooking, as it is the only oil that can be heated at high temp. And not become toxic.
I use it instead of butter.
I have customers that uses it as face and body oil.

Coconut oil is also good for digestion and it's a great anti-fungal too and does amazing things on dry winter skin.
Inside or out it is something that we should use more of!
I love it when the powers that held sway before try to dethrone something to keep their market share. So obvious and so common.
So here is the thing...I do not like coconut...I never have since childhood.
BUT, for some reason, I am really drawn to coconut oil and most recently coconut water. So, obviously there are some components there that my body needs.
