Aging with Grace
She sparkles on the waters;
She drifts with the clouds.
She floats on the breeze -
Rustles the leaves;
Caresses our cheeks.
She glistens in the canyons;
tingles in the mountian mist -
lighting on our eyelashes;
She moves with the tides;
twinkles in the night sky.
and deep in the fires that warm our hearts;
She is the spark.
She is everywhere that we are.
She is the Shekhinah;
She is Grace -
and She shines divinely
through your face.
Yes... She shines divinely
through your face
and my face.
How beautiful Chi !!!
Love , Lóa
It was your Grandmother's words...
and your words...
and Sir John Stevenson's words...
They broke my heart.
i guess you could say that i was
so moved by your "last rose of summer" post
that i instantly became insensed and inspired.
As i still am.
i was reaching for "never alone"
i was reaching for "never leaves"
"is always there" "shall not falter"
i was reaching for "what shelters me
to shelter them, to shelter you."
"the strength of spirit shining through"
"the healing way that spirit moves"
"angels among us who love us"
Guess i was reaching for comfort too.
It makes me proud to know that this beautiful and touching poem was born after you read that post !
You really are special :)
Love , Lóa
Hope I'm not intruding on this beautiful dance between you two.....just wanted to say "beautiful".
Oh no angelsong, you are not intruding.
You are part of this beautiful dance;
we all are.
the sweetest thing to light on you
the sweetest thing to light on me
grace ........ is beautiful , right ?
Tis Grace abiding in thee;
abiding in me -
Almost still; barely moving.
Tis Grace stirring in thee;
stirring in me -
to the myraid things unfolding.
Tis Grace moving thee;
moving me -
to be the change
we want to see growing.
Tis Grace empowering thee;
empowering me - overflowing.
Beautiful! Simply beautiful!
Your poetry is beautiful as is your sense of music.
Thank you Tattie & Vic!
in a winter wonderland of white;
How beautifully they rise...
into the crisp night air
with the snow on their limbs,
Their limbs trembling ever so slightly...
in the subsiding winds...
One of Grace's gifts to them, i think -
and one of their gifts to us;
the graceful way in which they bare their winters.
Grace be all around you and me
and through you and me;
all around She be.
When Grace opens her beautiful " i "s -
Oh how the birds begin again to sing.
Oh how the poets begin again to dream.
Even Mother Earth somehow seems...
to spring into action.
The words you speak are beautiful, and so very visual. I love your poetry. Seriously, you should think about publishing them.
Thank you photo51grapher for the compliment.
i have published a few of them.
i've been blessed with a wonderful outlet;
don't know how i'd live without it.
And quite grateful that i can share them here.
Infact my poems are often inspired by the
goings on here on this website.
One day maybe i'll throw a book together.
i certainly have enough of them to do it. Ha!
Thanks again! Love, Chi
As Grace rises with the morning sun
from her bed of roses with their petals trembling;
glistening with the morning dew -
as she yawns and stretches out
across the land, across the skies
with her brilliant hues -
with her fragance floating on the crisp air
through our open windows
filling every room;
A Wish that she might linger...
and that we might feel her presence
the whole day through.
Aging with Grace
Pearl Grace is a friend of mine
As the Pearl of her character has graced me
An ageless energy that has embossed time
Leaving Grace to follow.
It is the Pearl of friendship
Gracing herself through ageless time
Aging with Grace
Has become my greatest blessing.
Oh my friend, you touch me deeply...Thank You
Together, we traverse the planes of space and time,
side by side, within the Energy of We, the Spiral do we climb
I can't help but quote Robert Browning here...
"Grow old with me...the best is yet to be" !!
Love...Peg (aka, Pearl Grace)
What wonderful synchronicity!
Yes, indeed, it is, indeed it is.
All of the sudden i'm hearing George Burns;
he loves his Gracie too.
"Say Goodnight Gracie"
Grace comes to me
in the afternoon
on a warm breeze,
caressing me -
but not before filling my room
with the hint of spring blossoms
about to bloom;
with the hint of tall grasses
turning soon... to green.
Grace certainly can be seen
In the greening up of the trees
As they do it so Gracefully
Overnight, it seems.
And then there, instantly,
Are the birds chirping
To bring it all into awakened being
Suddenly, it seems, there is newness.
Oh to face with Grace
all that life and love imparts -
for such sweet taste has Grace
with her perfumed scents - ablilties,
and such sweet place has Grace
within my swollen heart.
I don't think I would do very well with Grace. I have been ageing very nicely with Bj for 59 years the 6 th of May 09.
Believe me this has been the most fantastic journey any man could ever ask for.Love and Pure sweet Joy from my whole family, They are wonderful and the best in the world for me. Just wanted you and the world to know just how blessed and lucky I am. Chi I intended fo this to be a joke, Just didn't work out that way.
congratulations on nearly 59 years....
How are you both coping ?
How is Bj after that fall and how is your hand ?
I have been thinking of oyu.
Well ya know how i like to play with words, Whitefeather.
enhancing their meanings and giving them a little kick; alittle nuance. Ha!
But i gotta say to you dear man, that grace has to be swirling
all around you and Bj (probably since the first day you met).
Because to have all that love growing between the two of you for all this
time (59 years, now... Wow!) Just ain't no way my friend, that grace
has not been about. She just ain't your lover, that's all! Ha! Huge Grin...
PS. i keep looking at this word, Whitefeather... What a wonderful word!
Grace (Webster's Definition)
1 a: unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification b: a virtue coming from God c: a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine grace
2 a: approval , favor <stayed in his good graces> b: archaic : mercy, pardon c: a special favor : priviledge <each in his place, by right, not grace, shall rule his heritage — Rudyard Kipling> d: disposition to or an act or instance of kindness, courtesy, or clemency e: a temporary exemption : reprieve
3 a: a charming or attractive trait or characteristic b: a pleasing appearance or effect : charm <all the grace of youth — John Buchan> c: ease and suppleness of movement or bearing
4—used as a title of address or reference for a duke, a duchess, or an archbishop : Your Grace
5: a short prayer at a meal asking a blessing or giving thanks
6: plural capitalized : three sister goddesses in Greek mythology who are the givers of charm and beauty
7: a musical trill, turn, or appoggiatura
8 a: sense of propriety <had the grace not to run for elective office — Calvin Trillin> b: the quality or state of being considerate or thoughtful
It seems there are all sorts of ways that Grace abounds!
A couple of ways i didn't even think of; like in a prayer and in music.
There is a rhythm; a rhyme
anointed with grace
that transcends time and space.
It's a lovely place to be
lost in reverie -
and it's a lovely place to share
when two or more are there.
What is grace
but a sun shower
lighting on my garden -
and a rainbow
stretching 'cross my sky.
Thank you dear one for the merry heart your poetry here gives to us all.
Just read the entire thread with great delight. You are a very talented poet Chi and more than full of grace.
My heart is full.
Aging? I can't remember what that is!
Grace be the light
that reflects from our " i "s
and Grace be the love.
Wrap your arms around me Grace;
Lift me to your lofty place
and just hold me.
Ageing? I WISH I din't remember what that is!
Grace be with you always! Soft Grin...
At 61 I seem to be unemployed and headed for retirement.I take a mountain vitimans and keep with all the latest stuff.I work out everyday at home and also go to Golds twice a week.
I am not perfect by any means.Its more a bad habit I picked up when I was 13.I have done all the bad things we do in our youth.
My sister in law who is 68 is going to get a face lift.Where I could see it,if your a public figure I can't see it just to going to 7/11 or date a guy thats 75.
There is a point where you have to except things to a point.Certain people make me feel young.Many times its only when I look into the mirror I think god who is that guy.
As long as you have your health and mental power its a wonderful thing.But when you start going down hill its another.
When you get in your sixties and you look around you think of all the deals you've made.Compromises about life in general.Oh I wanted this but I'll settle for that or I wanted this but I guess I'll take whats left.You make the best of it.Thats what I told myself when I left home at 18.My step father said"don't think you can run home everytime it gets hard."Smiling and whispering in my ear out of mothers site at the air port.
"No I wouldn't think that would I,"turned and left for three years in the Army during the Viet Nam.
You hold something back or else they can hurt you bad.You've seen people hurt bad they do things to themselves and others.Go to jail or die by there own hand or others.
You got to make the best of it.In any situation play the odds and you'll at least you have something.You wonder sometimes do people think about you like you think about them.Oh,I would rather be this person but I'm stuck with these people.Is anyone ever in a relationship where booth parties are really into it.Or do think,I got to make the best of it.
These last 25 years I've met alot of people,most seem to be going through the motions.Maybe thats what I do most of the time.
Aging gracefully is bull.You want to go get that woman and run off and screw the world or run off with that guy for the women.You don't want to think about medical costs and where am I going to live and I can't remember or my mates dying of cancer.
I hope someone can do that.I hope they don't have to make the best of it.
Aging gracefully is not bull, Harmon.
It's hard... but its not bull.
And aging with Grace;
noticing the state of Grace around you, well -
that's a horse of a totally different color.
Me thinks now perhaps
Grace and Beauty are one in the same;
the Tao that cannot be named;
as close to the Shekhinah as we get.
i caught beauty drifting with the clouds in the sky today -
and in the rays of the sun bursting through them; i caught grace.
I remembered what aging is. ;)
To me - to do the aging thing with grace means you have to know who you are on every level. When you know that about yourself every aspect of life is filled with grace.
