Hi, Everybody! I'm not sure I can do an attachment, but I want to try. Hope it works....If not, I'll try again later.

I am going to enclose a copy (with some personal parts left out) from Ruth in 1999. She died in 2001. For those of you who don't know Ruth, she was such a very special person. I think she wrote 16 books, among them A Search for Truth, which is absolutely wonderful. She has been an ambassador for our country. She was called by her first name by five different presidents of our country. She had a syndicated column in the newspapers. etc etc.

Can you believe it took two months for my second cousin to send me the negative that I wanted to borrow: of our family ghost..or ghosts. at the family reunion in Vincennes, Indiana, seven years ago. But , bless him, he finally did it, so that I could have this one made off for you.

If you look just above the grey head of the lady in the red blouse you'll see my head and shoulders, as I was making a speech to the 65 cousins about the genealogy that I'd just completed of our mutual ancestors.

The cousin couldn't believe it when he had his several rolls of film developed.
This was the one he took at the dinner that evening, but all the others taken before and after the dinner came out perfectly. Looks like one "ancestor" is embracing me while the others are gathering off to the right. Anyway, I like to think so. I think they're all THERE alright, and like Kirlien photography, a camera can sometimes pick them up.

I'm enrolled in art class once a week and have been painting again, though from the looks of them, I think I've forgotten everything I used to know about it. I had done quite a bit of it in Washington and Cuernavaca, but I'm pretty terrible at it now. I hope that everything is simply wonderful with you; and remember, old Palestinian friend,

I have read all of Ruths books and found them totally fascinating.

I, too, have some of Ruth's books, you are now reminding me to go back to them as I have read them years ago, but always kept them near.

Hi Polly,

Thank you for sharing this photo. It is amazing!
I have read about 6 of Ruth's books. I remember in one she talked about walk-ins. If you could I would love to have you or anyone else who has read this explain a little about that here.
It has been quite a while since I've read the books and have forgotten a lot of what she wrote about that and how it worked to benefit both the one who was leaving and the one coming in.
