Cold-Fighting, Alkalizing Soup

The PH of the body is so extremely important for maintaining a healthy immune system. If you are fighting off a cold or the flu this soup will help tremendously.

  • 3 cups Vegetable broth
  • 2 cups Distilled water
  • 2 Yellow or Spanish onions, diced into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Head of red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 1/2 cups carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 cup celery, chopped (you can use the leaves, too)
  • 4 Ripe tomatoes, cubed
  • 1 Bell pepper, diced (I like to use yellow peppers as they add color)
  • 1 tbs. Dill weed
  • 1 tbs. Rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Cumin

In a large stock pot bring the broth and the water to a boil.
Add the spices and whisk to blend.
Reduce heat to medium low.
Add the vegetables.
Cover and remove from the heat.
Let stand for five to ten minutes before serving.
Refrigerate unused portion.

If you have a cold or the flu this soup will help lessen the symptoms because it works to alkalize the body. When the body is alkalized it reduces the stress on the immune system. Several studies show that bacteria and viruses cannot thrive in an alkalized environment. For the best results have several bowls of Cold-fighting, Alkalizing Soup every day that you feel ill.
