Chocolate Lover’s Souffle
A light, luscious dessert for all chocolate lovers!
- 1/4 c Splenda - divided
- 1 tbs Splenda
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tbs. Cocoa powder
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3 egg whites (give the extra yolk to your dog or cat)
- 1/8 tsp cream of tarter
- Pinch of salt
Spray a round six inch oven proof baking dish with Pam
Use the 1 tbs of Splenda to coat the bottom and sides of the sprayed baking dish
Place the egg yolks in a small bowl
Place the egg whites in a larger bowl
Mix the yolks with and electric mixer on med-high until yolks are creamy
Gradually add in half of the Splenda
Mix in the vanilla and cocoa powder
Beat the yolk mixture on high for one minute
Beat the egg whites on high until they are foamy
Beat in the cream of tarter and the salt
Gradually add the other half of the Splenda
Beat on high until you can for a peak with the egg whites
Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites until all is mixed
Spoon into the ramekin or baking dish
Bake for 11 to 13 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the souffle has risen at least two inches
Remove carefully and serve hot
