Sesame Turmeric Chicken

Chicken is a popular entree with most everyone. If you can find organic chicken, that’s even better. A three ounce skinless, baked chicken breast only has about 120 calories, 0.3 grams of saturated fat and 20 grams of protein. Protein is very important to the body because it helps repair muscle fiber. It is also important when you are maintaining a low carb, no sugar lifestyle. Sesame Turmeric Chicken is a tasty way to add protein to your meal.

  • 1 Chicken, whole, giblets removed
  • 2 Tbs. Butter - room temperature organic unsalted is best
  • 1 Apple - cored and diced
  • 1 cup Apple juice - raw and unfiltered
  • 1 Tbs. Turmeric powder
  • 1 Tbs. Ginger - fresh - grated
  • 1/2 tsp. Cloves - ground

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Thoroughly wash chicken
Place chicken in oven proof baking dish, breast up
Rub 1 Tbs. Butter on the breast
Rub 1 Tbs. Butter inside the chicken
Place diced apple inside the chicken
Whisk together the remaining ingredients in a small bowl
Baste the chicken with the this mixture and pour a little inside the chicken
Use aluminum foil to tent over the chicken
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes at 350 degrees
